Market Breakdown

Lend us a hand to return the market area back into a regular parking lot!

There’s a lot of work that goes into making each market day a successful, enjoyable and zero-waste event. Having your extra hands makes the breakdown process at the end of the market go quickly and smoothly. Take down banners and A-frame signs, wipe down and fold up tables and benches, remove weights and close up tents, empty hand wash stations, collect safety cones and trash cans.  Market trash is then sorted and compostable materials removed and kept out of our landfill.  The process typically takes no more than 1.5 hours and is a fun volunteer opportunity to do with a friend or a group. Held every Saturday at the end of market.

WHEN: Saturday 11:45am to 1:15pm (April- October), 12:45pm to 2:15pm (November- March)

WHERE: Check in at the green Info Booth along the south side of the market area. 900 Iron Springs Rd, Prescott, AZ.

MISCELLANEOUS: Wear closed-toed shoes, appropriate clothing, and secure long hair. Bring water and a hat. We provide disposable gloves during the trash sort process for those who want to use them.

Email us at info@prescottfarmersmarket.org to schedule to be a Market Breakdown volunteer. Please include your full name, phone number and which date(s) you’d like to volunteer. We will review your request and reply back to confirm or adjust the schedule.

FYN Food Box Build

Help us build Feed Your Neighbors (FYN) food boxes for community members in need!

Through our donor-supported Feed Your Neighbors program, we pre-purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from our local farmers and growers. At the beginning of most (but not every) Saturday market, volunteers set up the FYN market booth, gather pre-purchased food from several vendors, build numerous food boxes, load them into transport and breakdown the FYN booth. On average, each box contains about $50 worth of local fruits and veggies and feeds a family of four for a week.

WHEN: Most Saturdays 7:15am to 8:15am (April- October), 9:45pm to 10:45am (November- March)

AVAILABLE DATES: September 30, October 21 & 28, and November 4 & 18. (December through March dates will be added soon).

WHERE: You’ll receive an email a few days prior to your volunteer day(s) indicating where the FYN booth will be placed inside the market, as it changes depending on market layouts. 900 Iron Springs Rd, Prescott, AZ.

MISCELLANEOUS: Wear closed-toed shoes and appropriate clothing, as you’ll be working in the market area around customers. Please secure long hair. We provide disposable gloves for those placing food in boxes and loaner aprons for those who’d like one.

Email us at info@prescottfarmersmarket.org to schedule to be a FYN volunteer. Please include your full name, phone number and which date(s) you’d like to volunteer. We will review your request and reply back to confirm or adjust the schedule.
