Garrett shared, “As a teenager, I became interested in growing plants, which then led me to the Yavapai College Horticulture program. From then on I’ve been hooked! Then, through a stroke of luck and a mutual friend, I was hired onto the Whipstone Farm crew. This pushed my love of plants even further and made me realize that I could potentially make a career out of something I care about so deeply.”
Garrett’s ultimate dream was to have a farm of his own one day, and so for the past three years he’s have been working towards that dream. Originally, he thought they wanted to sell vegetables, but was then introduced to the beautiful world of cut flowers. Since then, all the rows have been planted solely with flowers and foliage, in hopes of providing beautiful locally grown cut flowers to the surrounding communities.
