Garrett shared, “As a teenager, I became interested in growing plants, which then led me to the Yavapai College Horticulture program. From then on I’ve been hooked! Then, through a stroke of luck and a mutual friend, I was hired onto the Whipstone Farm crew. This pushed my love of plants even further and made me realize that I could potentially make a career out of something I care about so deeply.”
Garrett’s ultimate dream was to have a farm of their own one day, and so for the past two years they’ve have been working towards that dream. Originally, they thought they wanted to sell vegetables, but was then introduced to the beautiful world of cut flowers. Since then, their rows have been planted solely with flowers and foliage, in hopes of providing beautiful locally grown cut flowers to the surrounding communities.
