Market Information
What’s in Season
Plants don’t grow based on the Gregorian calendar. They respond to temperature, moisture and sunlight. Because of this, farmers can’t guarantee when a head of lettuce will be ready to harvest. We’ve gathered information from our farmers here in Yavapai County as well as our handful of farmers in other Arizona counties and placed crops into general seasons below. Keep in mind, that some years are warmer than others, or we might have an extra late frost in May that prevents farmers from harvesting peppers when expected. Everything here is subject to our climate, so the only way to know if something is truly available is to see if it’s for sale at the market.
