Fresh Food Boxes in AprilThanks to those who continue to purchase Fresh Food Boxes, ensuring support of our local farmers, ranchers and small businesses and enabling us to share healthy food with our neighbors in need. Each week we iron out more kinks and continue bring you more fresh, local products with a smoother ordering process and pick up procedure. We appreciate all of the support and are proud to be part of this community! With the latest round of health and safety guidelines including the Stay At Home Order issued from Governor Ducey, we have decided to make each market in April a Fresh Food Box market. Our regular walk-through market, as well as our midweek downtown market, will resume at a later date. Until then, count on still being able to get your fresh food every Saturday, drive-through style! Here’s how it will work: Our online shop will be open Tuesdays at noon through Thursdays at noon. Online orders are first come first served, and there are plenty of food options. Even when items sell out, know that we will have more next week! There’s no need to worry about food shortages; there is plenty of fresh food to share! After you place your online order you will receive an email confirmation. Please keep that handy, either printed out or on your phone, for your pick up on Saturday to help us ensure you leave with your complete order. On Saturday, arrive anytime between 10am and 1pm to pick up your order. Enter through the main entrance of Yavapai College on Sheldon Street and stay in the right lane as you approach the market. A staff member will be there to guide you and answer any questions you have about our simple pick-up process. Give a PFM staffer your name, they will pull your order, ensure it’s correct, have it loaded into your vehicle and you can be on your way! ***SNAP/EBT Customers: Remember, UNLIMITED Double Up Food Bucks are back through April 30th. This means that families can double ANY amount of SNAP benefits when purchasing fresh local veggies at PFM! Please email info@prescottfarmersmarket.org and ask for the EBT coupon code, then visit the online shop and place your order using the code. A common question we have been receiving is, “what should I do with my empty cardboard box?” Our zero waste efforts are still extremely important; however, due to food and health safety we cannot reuse the boxes for future Fresh Food Boxes. We encourage you to reuse or re-purpose these brand new, sturdy boxes at your home or recycle them or tear them up and put them in your compost pile. If you would like to give your empty box back to PFM, there will be a drop off pile at the end of the pick up line on Saturday. Drop your flattened box there and we will put it to good use for other purposes outside of Fresh Food Boxes. Thanks for keeping zero waste in mind! Click here to shop our online store |
