Learn to Can at NoCo Community Kitchen
University of Arizona’s Cooperative Extension is bringing two one-day, hands-on canning workshops to PFM’s NoCo Community Kitchen in September, and you take home everything you make in class.
Wednesday, Sept. 16 covers beef stew and chicken by pressure canning, plus apple pie filling by water bath.
Thursday, Sept. 17, you’ll learn to make southwest soup and pinto beans by pressure canning, plus relish by water bath.
Sign up for one day or both.
Both sessions run 9am to 6pm at NoCo Community Kitchen, 216 N. Cortez St. You’ll learn proper equipment use and jar preparation, how to work with USDA-tested recipes, and the food safety basics that keep home-canned goods safe on the shelf.
Cost is $100 per person, per day, and includes all supplies. Space is limited, so register early.
