Plant to Plate Gardening: Getting Started with Healthy Soil

The job of a gardener is simple – to understand what your plants need and to give it to them. The Plant to Plate series led by Yavapai Master Gardeners will give you the tools you need to get the best possible results from your garden. Planting begins with the soil. Good soil is loamy, easy to dig, readily soaks up and stores water, drains well, and makes a good seedbed. In this program, you will learn how to improve the condition of your soil to support healthy plant life through a variety of methods including composting and fertilizing in order to provide nutrients and water for plants.
