Edible Forest and Pollinator Gardens With Dianne Kadonaga
Tuesday, February 13th at 5:00 pm

Learn about a successful hyper-local urban community building project that can be used as a template to address food insecurity by connecting climate-resilient edible forest gardens and wildlife habitat for pollinators and birds, that also reduces the city’s heat island effect and pollution, minimizes flooding, and improves the quality of local streams and rivers.

Dianne is a master gardener in Franklin County (Columbus, Ohio) and Yavapai County (Prescott, Arizona), a pollinator specialization advocate, and owner of Sunny Glen Garden, an educational demonstration garden and native plant nursery for her community to turn urban lawns into edible forest gardens and wildlife habitat. She uses permaculture and regenerative techniques that are inexpensive and self-sustaining as she strives to be more eco-friendly. Dianne coordinates the Connecting Community Corridor for People Pollinators and the Planet, or CCC for PPP, where many of her neighbors have joined in the project.
