Join us for another Community Seed Exchange hosted by Prescott Farmers Market. We will have heirloom, organic, and conventional seed varieties available for free as well as many varieties that have been donated by local gardeners over the past year. We encourage you to bring your own seeds to donate and/or exchange!
SPECIAL NEWS FOR THIS EVENT
Every Seed Exchange that PFM hosts is unique. It’s always exciting to see what our community has been growing and is anxious to share. This Seed Exchange will be especially wonderful because there will be some extra special offerings!
*APS is donating pollinator seed mix containing 20 native AZ wildflower species that are beneficial for pollinators!
*Prescott Area Iris Society (PAIS) will also bring 300 paper bags with 3 or 4 miscellaneous iris varieties, a small bag of alfalfa pellets to plant with each iris, a sheet of guidelines on “Planting, Growing & Caring for Iris in the Quad-City Area” and a tri-fold brochure about PAIS and their community work!
*Slow Food Prescott has generously shared packets of Renee’s Gardens Seeds provided to them for their Grow Food in Your Backyard program.
Here’s what you need to know:
*The seed exchange is open to the public and you are not required to bring seeds in order to participate.
*Please label any seeds that you bring with the crop variety, harvest location, month/year, and the name of the harvester.
*Please bring your own storage for seeds that you take home, such as paper envelopes or resealable bags. If you forget, seed envelopes will also be available for use.
*Many seeds that we will be distributing have been grown and saved from local gardeners so they are adapted to the local climate.
We look forward to seeing you, your friends and neighbors at the market as you all attend this free, informative and fun event.
