Community Seed Exchange

Saturday, June 3
7:30-Noon
at the Prescott Farmers Market

Everyone is invited to participate in a community seed exchange hosted by the Prescott Farmers Market Education Booth. We will have heirloom, organic, and conventional seed varieties available for give-away, but most importantly we encourage you to bring your own seeds to trade and exchange!

Here’s what you need to know:

-Please label any seeds that you bring with the crop variety, harvest location, month/year, and the name of the harvester.

-The seed exchange is open to the public and you are not required to bring seeds in order to participate.

-Please bring your own storage for seeds, such as paper envelopes or glass jars. If you forget, seed envelopes will also be available for use.

-Many seeds that we will be distributing have been grown and saved from the Prescott Valley Community Garden, so they are adapted to the local climate.

-This seed exchange is possible because of a generous donation of a seed library by the Lynx Creek Seed Bank. We will gladly accept any donations in order to keep this seed library up-to-date and available to the larger community.

It’s the perfect time of year to start planting in your garden, so please encourage your friends and neighbors to shop at the market and attend this wonderful event. RSVP on Facebook.
