We interviewed newest PFM vendor Circle H Farms and got the scoop from owners Mike and Christina Haston about their latest endeavor.
Tell us about Circle H Farms: We are a small family business and mini urban farm in Prescott. We started making freeze-dried goods, including our Prescott Pup Treats, in early 2024.
What do you sell at PFM? We sell Prescott Pup Treats, which are freeze-dried pet treats.
How would you describe one of your products to someone who has never tried it before? Prescott Pup Treats are made from local, raw freeze-dried beef liver, heart, and tongue. They are a healthy treat for pups!
How do your products differ from store bought products? We don’t add anything to our product. There are zero fillers, preservatives, or additives. It’s local beef, and we make the product ourselves.
What is special about your business? We work with local ranchers to procure our beef organs, to ensure our pet treats are high quality. We know where the meat comes from, and we know the ranchers, which is important to our business and our customers.
What are your business plans for the future? We hope to expand our product line to offer more great freeze-dried treats for both pups and people!
Why is supporting local agriculture and business important to you? We should always support local as much as possible! Our community thrives when we keep the support and money within our own area.
What is your favorite product to buy from another PFM vendor? We love so many products from various vendors at PFM! It’s difficult to choose a favorite, but we especially enjoy meat from K4 Gourmet Beef.
Do you have a “fun fact” about yourself, your business or product? One of our kids (13 years old) played a big part in designing our unique packaging! We worked together as a family to create the name, design, and most elements of our business.
What is your favorite market memory? Meeting all the really great vendors at PFM over the last year or so that we’ve been attending the market.
How do you typically prepare to attend the market? We make sure we have plenty of pet treats packaged and ready to go every Saturday!
Do you vend at other markets? No, since September we’ve focused our efforts to vend exclusively at PFM.
What else would you like customers to know about you and your business? We love living in Prescott and meeting new people in our community! If you have ideas for products you want to see, please share them with us! We are always up for brainstorming ideas to see what we can do to further support both people and pets.
